MM2H is a program promoted by the Government of Malaysia to allow people from all over the world who fulfil certain criteria, to stay in Malaysia for as long as possible on a social visit pass with multiple entry visa.

The Social Visit Pass is initially for a period of ten (10) years (depending on the validity of the applicant’s passport) and is renewable.

It is open to all citizens of countries recognized by Malaysia regardless of race, religion, gender or age. Applicants are allowed to bring along their spouse and children (below 21 years old who are not married).



Requirements for MM2H

Aged below 50 years:

  • Show Liquid Assets worth min. of RM500,000;
  • Show monthly offshore income of equivalent to RM10,000 every month in bank statement; and
  • Place Fixed Deposit of RM300,000.

Aged above 50 years:

  • Show Liquid Assets worth min. of RM350,000;
  • Show monthly offshore income of equivalent to RM10,000 every month in bank statement; and
  • Place Fixed Deposit of RM150,000.


Benefits of MM2H

  1. Long Stay/Retirement
    • 10 years social visit pass with Multiple Entry Visa (renewable).
  2. Car Purchase
    • Allowed to bring in personal car (car purchased before join MM2H and registered at least 6 months prior to endorsement date) OR to purchase a locally-assembled car without any import duty, excise duty and sales tax. Application must be made within 1 year after endorsement via online.
  3. House Purchase
    • May purchase residential properties in Malaysia costing not less than RM500,000.00 per unit for all states except Penang (minimum cost RM1million) and Real Property Gain Tax 5%.
  4. Other Incentives
    1. Tax Free Income from Abroad - Income earned in Malaysia is subjected to tax at scale rates ranging from 1% to 26%. Otherwise, the rate is 26%.
    2. Domestic Helper- allowed to apply for one maid.
    3. Bring in Pets
    4. Part-time work- applicable for participants aged 50 years old and above
    5. Education - allowed to bring children under 21 years old and not married
